Zion Williamson's latest injury status for Pelicans vs. Hawks

Zion Williamson's latest injury status for Pelicans vs. Hawks

1 minute, 30 seconds Read

Zion Williamson was listed as available to play for the New Orleans Pelicans against the Atlanta Hawks today. Zion hadn't missed a single game for the Pelicans in this short season, so fans were starting to get excited about his availability so far.

Three hours before the game began, Zion was suddenly downgraded to questionable due to right hamstring strain. There was some concern from fans online, but the panic button wasn't quite pushed yet.

Now, with about 80 minutes to play, Zion Williamson has again been downgraded to an out against the Atlanta Hawks. The only happy news associated with this is the fact that Jordan Hawkins has been upgraded from questionable to available.

Coming into tonight's game, the New Orleans Pelicans were already missing Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III – four very important players on their roster. Now all eyes must be on Brandon Ingram as he must carry the load without one of his key teammates.

In the team's last game against the Indiana Pacers, the Pelicans had unexpected help in the form of Brandon Boston Jr. The team will need a lot more of that when they take on Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

The New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST.
