Zach Bryan teases wistful new song after split from Brianna Chickenfry

Fans may not have to wait long to hear the music they inspire Zach Bryanis split off from Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.

Bryan, 28, shared a snippet of a yet-to-be-released song with a melancholic tone on Instagram on Tuesday, October 22.

“Remember when we went to Rockaway Beach / Summer heat in east Queens / And a subway ride,” he sang in the video.

The clip came shortly after Bryan announced his split from 25-year-old LaPaglia via his Instagram Story.

“Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her from the bottom of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that,” the country singer wrote on Tuesday. “I've had an incredibly tough year personally and have had to go through some pretty bad things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we took different paths. I’m not perfect and never will be.”

LaPaglia released her own statement shortly after, claiming she felt “really blindsided” and was stepping away from social media “to heal privately.” She told her followers that she would be “back and ready to talk” in a timely manner.

“I love you guys so much, thank you for all your kind words,” she continued. “Remember that you are so loved and that everything will always be okay.”

Later that day, LaPaglia explained the breakup in an emotional YouTube video, saying, “I cried for like five days straight. I'm at the point where I ask myself: How can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through things you shouldn't do?”

LaPaglia reiterated that she hoped to “heal privately” despite the highly publicized breakup. “I’m obviously very, very hurt right now,” she added.

The former couple's paths first crossed at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards, a month before LaPaglia made a surprise appearance on stage at one of Bryan's New York concerts in June 2023. LaPaglia confirmed she was dating Bryan in a July 2023 episode of her “PlanBri Uncut” podcast, and in February they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Grammys.

Bryan didn't elaborate on the split, but a source shared it exclusively Us weekly On Tuesday, LaPaglia said she was “deeply upset” by what happened. “(Brianna) was blindsided by Zach using dating apps and dating while they were in a committed relationship,” the insider added. “Someone sent her Zach's Raya profile and the girls pointed out that he was nearby.”

The source continued: “They had just moved in together in the spring and she has changed her whole life to accommodate his. She is devastated. He denied all allegations but still agreed that they should separate.”
