Woman injured in Opelousas shooting, suspect arrested | Crime/Police

A woman is in critical condition following a shooting early Tuesday morning in the 500 block of Kim Drive in Opelousas.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Opelousas police responded to a report that a woman arrived at Opelousas General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers determined she had been shot in the 500 block of Kim Drive about 15 minutes before the hospital report.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with this incident, but the investigation is still in its early stages, police said. Details regarding the suspect's identity and possible charges are pending as investigators work to establish a complete and accurate chain of events leading up to the shooting.
