Wild Vs Jets Game 3: Preview, Line Combinations

1 minute, 35 seconds Read

The Minnesota Wild (1-0-1) are back in action tonight, playing on the road against the Winnipeg Jets (2-0-0).

Wild head coach John Hynes said Sunday that center Joel Eriksson Ek will not play tonight with a broken nose. Hynes also stated that captain Jared Spurgeon will not and cannot play tonight due to a lower body injury.

Eriksson Ek is expected to travel to St. Louis to play on Tuesday. Spurgeon is being evaluated. Marcus Johansson was also injured in last night's game, but returned and played the entire third period.

Liam Ohgren will make his season debut tonight. Johansson will warm up and if he cannot play, Travis Boyd will take his place.

Boyd, 31, was recalled from Iowa today. The Wild sent Jesper Wallstedt to the ground. If Johansson can't play, I would imagine Ohgren would take his place. If Johansson plays, Ohgren will likely play on the fourth line.

Here are the projected lines (subject to change).
