The Oregon Ducks football jerseys are an icon in college football. How are the eye-catching Nike uniforms, boots, helmets and gloves chosen? Oregon football equipment manager Kenny Farr joins Oregon offensive tackle Marcus Harper II for an exclusive interview on the Big Mark Show.

Harper II hosts “The Big Mark Show” in the video above. Watch Harper interview Farr about his legendary office (dubbed the Oregon football facility's hair salon), what it's like to travel on the team plane to Big Ten Conference away games, and how Oregon's uniform combinations are selected.

Farr has a unique perspective on the development of Oregon's national brand and its uniforms. Farr, who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2002, worked as a student equipment manager for the athletic department. In 2008, Farr joined the Oregon equipment room team and now serves as football equipment manager. His influence on Oregon's innovative equipment and uniforms cannot be overstated.

Farr is responsible for the heat-reactive color-changing cleats introduced in 2023.

“The inspiration actually came from Kenny,” said Nike product line manager Mattrell McGraw. “We’ve never really had a shoe that changed color.”

Farr, a popular member of the Ducks team, is constantly showered with praise from former Oregon players, including NFL players, when he surprises them with Ducks gifts in the mail.

Farr also helped develop the concept for the new jerseys with a committee made up of veteran players from the 2024 football team. The committee consists of players like Traeshon Holden, Jeffery Bassa, Tez Johnson And Marcus Harper II

In the exclusive interview with Harper, Farr reveals that while it's difficult to choose his favorite uniform combination, the first-ever Stomp Out Cancer uniform combination (in collaboration with OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital) and this season's Stomp Out Cancer uniform combination (in collaboration). with Oregon coach Dan Lanning's wife and children) are hard to beat.

“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, whether it's their immediate family, friends or anyone,” Farr told Harper II. “It's just cool to give these people some attention and encouragement.”

Farr and Harper II also recalled some stories from when the uniform committee met before the 2024 season. When discussing which game the Ducks should wear the all-black “Fly Era” in, Oregon's star receiver Tez Johnson insisted they should be reserved for the game against the Washington Huskies. After a 40-minute discussion, Johnson was overruled and the Ducks played the Ohio State Buckeyes in all black on October 12 at Autzen Stadium.

This Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines, the Ducks will debut their all-white “Warp Speed” jerseys. The helmet is completely chrome plated and has wings on the sides, while the face mask is also chrome plated and the visor is black. The gloves feature Oregon's silver “O” logo with silver wings on opposite sides, a popular alternate logo for the football program.

On the field, look for Harper II to shine with strength and pancakes against Michigan. Off the field, Harper forges his own path with his creativity and personality as host of The Big Mark Show.

Oregon's offensive line has found its rhythm over the last six games, as the Ducks have allowed just three sacks in that span, including a streak of four straight games in which they didn't give up a sack.

Now the 8-0 Ducks head to Ann Arbor, MI to take on the reigning national champion Michigan Wolverines at the Big House. The No. 1 Oregon Ducks and Michigan square off on Saturday, November 2nd at 12:30 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
