To find your polling place in Texas, you can follow these steps:

• Use the voter search tool: Find the “Voter Information” section. Use the Voter Lookup Tool to check your registration status and find your polling place by entering your information.

• Contact your county elections office: You can also contact your local county elections office directly. They can provide you with information about your polling place and any other election-related questions.

• Check your voter registration card: Your voter registration card, if you have one, will usually list your polling place.

• Be sure to check this information closer to the election date as polling locations may change.

Can you vote at any polling place in Texas?

Where you can vote in Texas depends on the county in which you are registered. In general, Texas uses a precinct-based voting system, which means you must vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day according to your voter registration district. Each voter is assigned a specific polling place based on their registered address.

However, 99 of the 254 counties in Texas participate in the Countywide Polling Place Program, meaning registered voters can cast their ballot at any polling place within their county. Most major counties, including Dallas, Tarrant and Collin, have statewide voting. Denton County is the largest in the state not to offer this.

With early voting, you can vote at any early voting location in your county, regardless of your precinct. This provides greater flexibility for voters who may not be able to get to their polling place on Election Day.

What do you need to bring to vote in Texas?

To vote in Texas, you must provide acceptable photo ID. Acceptable forms of photo ID include:

• Texas driver's license (including a provisional driver's license)
• Texas voter ID card
• Texas handgun license
• Texas ID card
• US passport
• US military ID card
• Any other U.S. government-issued ID that includes your photo (e.g., a school ID card)

The name on your ID must match the name under which you are registered to vote.

If you vote during early voting or on Election Day, bring your ID with you as it will be checked at the polling place.

If you don't have one of the accepted photo IDs, you may still be able to vote by presenting certain documents, such as:

• Copy of a utility bill
• Bank statement
• Government document
• Paycheck, or
• Any other government document that contains your name and address

In addition, you will be required to sign a statement stating that you are unable to obtain a valid photo ID. Election officials will then determine whether all requirements are met.

If you have an acceptable photo ID but did not bring it with you, you can vote provisionally and have six days to provide an acceptable photo ID to the county registrar of voters.
