Donald Trump is in Texas on Friday to campaign, meet with the media and record an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Seems inevitable, doesn't it? The Meeting of the Bromance Ghosts? But it's actually Trump's first appearance on the wildly popular podcast. And while both Trump and Rogan rely on young men for their appeal and share certain similarities in their approach, it's not exactly a match made in political heaven. Rogan is harder to grasp than you might think if you're not a regular listener.

He also hosts a variety of guests; The most recent include singer and rapper Jelly Roll and a wildlife biologist who studies wolves.

When will Joe Rogan interview Trump?

No release date for the podcast appearance has been announced. Rogan's show is by far the most popular podcast on Spotify, with nearly 15 million listeners on that platform alone. So it's no surprise that Trump appears in it, even if Rogan isn't a full MAGA supporter.

Kamala Harris has been in talks with Rogan but will not appear, a campaign spokesman told Chris Hayes on MSNBC on Thursday. Harris has appeared on several podcasts, including Alex Cooper's “Call Her Daddy.”

Both candidates have embraced the format, a change in the way campaigns are run. They have both participated in national media interviews (although Trump withdrew from a “60 Minutes” interview), but not with the frequency with which the candidates have competed in the past. The change in the media landscape is reflected in the choice of formats and platforms – and in the way they try to reach voters.

Who is Joe Rogan?

Rogan is a former stand-up comedian and actor best known for his appearances on News Radio and as host of the reality show Fear Factor. He continues to work as a UFC commentator. Some of his guests have spread misinformation on various topics on his show, and Rogan has been criticized for several comments and theories regarding COVID-19.

Who does Joe Rogan support for president?

Rogan is politically ubiquitous and has criticized Trump in the past. Rogan also praised Harris' performance in the presidential debate in September.

In August, he praised Robert F. Kennedy Jr., then running for president as an independent, as the only candidate who did not try to manipulate and mislead voters. Trump responded on Truth Social, his social media platform, saying, “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets booed the next time he steps into the UFC ring??? MAGA2024.”
