What happened to Lauri Markkanen? Jazz All-Star scares Utah after being taken to locker room against Kings

1 minute, 1 second Read

The regular season is in full swing and the Jazz are still looking for their first win. Obviously their superstar Lauri Markkanen is under a lot of pressure to perform, but the back-to-back games have not gone well for him so far. After last night's disappointing 17-point performance in a loss to the Mavs, his problems continued tonight against the Kings. And to make matters worse, the big man appeared to be injured midway through the game.

It was in the final seconds of the first half that Lauri worried everyone after he grimaced a bit after attempting a rebound. And it looked like he had lower back problems when you saw him holding that part of his body. Just before the buzzer sounded, he stopped the game and went straight to the locker room.

To make matters worse, Lauri was not in the starting lineup in the second half and was replaced by Kyle Filipowski. Upon further assessment of his injury, it was determined that the center would not return for the remainder of the game. He ended his evening with just 7 points and three rebounds.
