Joe Mixon continues to be the gift that keeps on giving.

The Houston Texans' veteran running back, acquired in the offseason, scored his fifth rushing touchdown of the season on a 14-yard sprinter in which he backed away and fended off three different defenders to reach the goal line.

The story of the drive was DeMeco Ryans' decision to replace left guard Kenyon Green with second-year Jarrett Patterson.

However, Patterson was injured during the Mixon touchdown run.

Houston's touchdown drive covered 10 plays, 70 yards and five minutes and 46 seconds. The score came after the Colts' 69-yard pass touchdown from Anthony Richardson to Josh Downs.

Mixon was heavily involved in the first half of Sunday's game. He has nine touches, five carries and four receptions for 54 yards.

Mixon has surpassed 100 yards rushing in the last two games. Sunday's score marks the fifth straight game in which Mixon has scored a touchdown.

Patterson entered the blue medical tent. Houston's plan at left guard if he can't go is unknown, but Green is currently back in action.

With a win, the Texans would secure a .500 record in division play and improve to 6-2 overall.
