Twitch's monthly viewer hours “recovered” in September, reaching 1.653 billion hours, up from 1.568 billion in June 2024.

While Twitch is still below January's 1.902 billion hours viewed, StreamElements' State of the Stream summary – compiled from data courtesy of Rainmaker.gg – shows that Twitch is slowly recovering from a mid-year slump, with daily hours observed also increased from 45 million to 55 million – the highest since April.

EA Sports PC 25 is only the second release of 2024 to attract enough views to crack the top 10 most viewed games on Twitch. The first was Palworld in January. Dota 2 also “had a strong month,” up 78%, thanks to competitive championship The International.

“Twitch experienced two significant peaks in September that fueled each other: a surge in daily viewership and a reshuffling of the top streamer rankings,” explains Or Perry, CEO of StreamElements.

“FaZe Clan members hosted simultaneous subathons that lasted over 695 hours each, bringing four YouTubers into the top 10 for the first time, with Stableronaldo taking the crown. This increase also increased the proportion of hours watched by the top 100 streamers, reaching a peak of 20% in 2024, up from the usual 17%, benefiting from FaZeClan members being in the Stream together, which could encourage the use of features like Stream Together that streamline the collaboration process.
