Tony Romo drops epic reference to “Little Giants.”

Just when you thought Tony Romo would fall down the NFL analyst rankings, he reappears with a crash Little giants Reference.

Romo and Jim Nantz were in action for the Denver Broncos-Baltimore Ravens game on Sunday afternoon. And with the Ravens trailing 41-10 in the fourth quarter, it looked like Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was running for his life as he ran about 75 yards in the backfield to set up a pass completion for no gain . But as Romo watched Nix make his rounds in the backfield, it reminded him of something else.

“He did his best, Lamar. And that reminded me of that Little giants“Whistle, whistle, whistle!” Romo said, laughing.

Epic reference. And Romo was right. Nix running away from Baltimore's defense looked a lot like Rad Tad Simpson, who begged the officials to “blow the whistle” as he ran away from Kevin O'Shea's Cowboys defense in 1994.


Perhaps not knowing about the '90s sports classic starring Rick Moranis, Ed O'Neill and John Madden, Nantz didn't get involved with Romo's Little giants reprimand and instead chose to follow up on Lamar Jackson's comment. After Nix was chased again on the next play, Nantz asked, “How is he doing right now?” He’s been running around quite a bit.”

“He’s exhausted, but I think he’ll probably stay in the game,” Romo said, causing Nantz to laugh.

In the same clip, Romo referenced this Little giants and angered Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson for leaving last week's game because he was tired. Find another NFL analyst who can do this.
