Can you solve today's sentence?

I chose PARSE because I was at the post office when I started this book and was thinking about words related to postage. I didn't like STAMP because it had too few vowels and PARCEL was too long. PARSE basically came from PARCEL. It gave me exactly 0 letters and left me with 355 possible solutions. Ouch.

Luckily CLOUD brought that number down to 12 and BOOTH only left me with 4. That's still a 25% chance of guessing correctly, but I liked my chances with GOOFY and was right! GOOFY for the win! Oh shit…

Competitive Wordle Score

I get 0 points for guessing four and since I equated the Wordle Bot, that's another helping of Zip, Zulch and Nada. Zeros everywhere!

Today's Wordle etymology

The word “goofy” emerged in American English in the early 20th century and its roots can be traced to the term “goof.” The word “goof” appeared around the beginning of the 20th century and meant a stupid or clumsy person. The origin of “goof” is uncertain, but it may derive from an English dialect term or possibly from Middle English “gof,” meaning “simpleton.” Some suggest there may also be connections to the Scottish word “goff,” meaning “fool.”

“Goofy” emerged as an adjective in the 1920s and meant “silly” or “foolish.” It gained widespread popularity after it was used as the name for the Disney character “Goofy” in 1932, further cementing its association with playful silliness.
