Tim Burton expands the afterlife in a fantastic way Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with a host of new characters, some of whom he couldn't even properly introduce. While half of the film is spent in the world of the living BeetlejuiceWhile the Deetz family reunites to mourn the death of Lydia's father Charles, the other half finds themselves playing in the creepy, nonsensical world of the afterlife. One such example can be found in Beetlejuice 2's newly launched pages of the Handbook for the Recently Deceasedwhich confirms the existence of a terrible dead character.

On the other side of the Code 699 page is a picture of the Grim Reaper slashing the stomach of a deceased personwith a blurb about the ghost given below. While the Grim Reaper is a real-world mythological figure said to embody death, Beetlejuice 2The Tim Burton Easter Egg conveys Tim Burton's own version of the character and his beliefs about his purpose in the afterlife.
