    FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

    Bundle up for high school football games. Temperatures will be over 50°C throughout the game.

    Kick-off temperatures will be well above 50°C but will dip into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
    Kick-off temperatures reach well over 50°C, but drop to over 40°C and below 50°C by the end of the games.(WDBJ7)

    OUTLOOK FOR THE WEEKEND

    Temperatures are rising as we approach the weekend. Fall festivals are a breeze! This weekend, highs will climb back into the 70s with lots of sunshine.

    We are now mid-October, which means peak fall foliage is on the horizon! The Greenbrier and areas west of the Blue Ridge will experience moderate to high cover of fall colors this weekend.

    Elsewhere, subtle touches of color are slowly added. Peak fall color is expected to occur in the next 1-2 weeks. Now that Virginia's Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened, get out and do a little leaf peeping!
