TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Zoo and Conservation is closing early on Wednesday due to expected severe weather.

The Topeka Zoo announced on social media shortly before 3 p.m. Oct. 30 that it was closing early due to expected storms. The decision was made out of consideration for animals, staff and visitors.

“We appreciate our animal care staff who remained on site to ensure our animals were in a safe area to ride today and during the storm tonight.”
