25 years since we delved into debauchery and occasional incest with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair, Cruel intentions was rebooted as a TV series. While you watch the new trailer with a new cast, I'm taking a big sip of the fake Holy Grail.

The eight-episode Prime Video show takes you inside the vicious sororities and fraternities of Manchester College, where step-siblings Caroline Merteuil (First kill's Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lucien Belmont (Boy swallows the universe's Zac Burgess) are social royalty. And they have an unhealthy obsession with each other. They are on a mission to seduce the Vice President's daughter, Annie Grover (Gossip Girl's Savannah Lee Smith) and climb their way back to campus fame after a violent hazing incident.

Sara Goodman and Phoebe Fisher, who both adapted it I know what you did last summer Series, are the showrunners and writers of the series, with original Cruel intentions Director Roger Kumble served as an executive producer with them. The original film was already an adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' Dangerous connections, So maybe there's more to discover than we saw in the 1999 film. Or maybe we're just in for more unpleasant doses of on-campus incest to “Bittersweet Symphony,” who's to say?

Cruel intentions will stream on Prime Video on November 21st
