The latest on DK Metcalf, Riq Woolen is back and other injury updates from Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald

Running back Kenneth Walker III practiced fully after being limited on Thursday and unable to participate in Wednesday's practice due to illness.

“I wouldn't say the guy feels like a million bucks, I think it's still weighing on him a little bit, but he trained today and looks great,” Macdonald said.

In addition to Fant going on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Week 1, the Seahawks also got tackle Abraham Lucas back on the practice field this week, although he has already been ruled out for the game. Lucas, who underwent offseason knee surgery and was on the physically unable to perform list at the start of the year, is not expected back in action until after Seattle's bye in Week 10 at the earliest, Macdonald said earlier this week. Nevertheless, it was a good first week of training.

“They did a good job,” Macdonald said of Fant and Lucas. “Abe is not in his place at the moment but I think he is really confident in what we have asked of him. It’s exciting to see him being confident and moving the way he does and George had a great week coming back.”

Meanwhile, rookie Michael Jerrell will start at right tackle for the second straight year.

“Mike will start again,” Macdonald said. “Again, we have confidence in him, he's had another really good week of training and the message to him is, 'Hey, all the people who said you couldn't play last week are the same ones saying that'' Me am really good this week so no offense but the only opinion that really matters at this point is the guys playing next to you so you owe it to them to keep preparing and keep doing the things that have put you in this position. Let's win a football game. So everything you got is what we need again and we're ready to roll.'”

Macdonald said new linebacker Ernest Jones IV, acquired in a trade this week, has performed well in the first few days.

“He’s doing a great job,” Macdonald said. “It will take until the game to get him prepared and ready to play. There's a lot of remnants of what they did at Tennessee, which is great, but there are a few details – you just want to make sure. “We're on the same page going into the game, but he's doing a great job. “
