The Cardinals took a 21-9 halftime lead over the Bears

The Bears looked like they could make it into halftime down by five points, but their leaky run defense cost them time again.

Cairo Santos' third field goal of the first half made the score 14-9 with 26 seconds left in the game, but running back Emari Demercado sprinted 53 yards for a touchdown with four seconds left in the half. He became the third player to score a touchdown in the first half, giving the Cardinals a 21-9 lead.

Tight end Trey McBride and running back Trey Benson have the other touchdowns, but running back James Conner did most of the heavy lifting. He has 11 carries for 73 yards and the Cardinals totaled 148 rushing yards on Sunday.

All that running speed was matched by a defense that bent without breaking. The Bears entered Arizona territory four times, but were held to three field goals and a sack by Xavier Thomas and LJ Collier forced a punt on the Cardinals' fourth drive into territory.

Caleb Williams is 11 of 24 for 137 yards and dropped a few passes when he had time to make clear throws from the pocket. The Bears will get the ball at halftime and will need to find a better offensive formula if they want to get a road win on Sunday.
