The Bruins' terrible start reaches a historic new low

The Boston Bruins suffered their worst loss of the season on Halloween when they fell to the Carolina Hurricanes by a final score of 8-2. Every part of their play was sloppy and they have now fallen to a record of 4-6-1. Additionally, they have lost five of their last six games.

An interesting statistic shows how difficult the Bruins' start to the season was. According to Sportsnet, the Bruins' 42 goals allowed in 11 games are the most since the 1995-96 season. They finished that campaign with a record of 40-31-11.

The Bruins have earned a reputation for their excellent goaltending and defense. However, they just didn't get that far in the beginning. The same applies, of course, to their quiet offensive.

After signing an eight-year contract for $66 million shortly before the start of the season, Swayman started the season with a 3-4-1 record, a goals against average (GAA) of 3.57 and a save percentage (SV%) of 0.884 Season. Joonas Korpisalo has a 1-2-0 record, an SV% of 0.871 and a GAA of 3.48.

It was just a bad start for the Bruins in every way. While they still have time to turn things around, they need to bounce back immediately if they want to be a real playoff threat this year.
