The Blues face perhaps their toughest test of the young season on Tuesday evening when they host the unbeaten Jets.

Winnipeg comes to the Enterprise Center on Tuesday night as the last undefeated team in the NHL and boasts a record of 5-0-0 and the best goal difference of plus-16 in the league. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has picked up where he left off last season as a Vezina Trophy winner, posting a .952 save percentage and 1.25 goals against average in his four appearances so far.

The Jets also have seven players averaging at least one point per game, including senior forward Mark Scheifele with five goals and three assists. The Blues have had major problems against the Jets in recent seasons, going 0-3-0 last year and 1-3-0 the season before that.

Despite disappointing starts from Colorado (2-4-0) and Nashville (0-5-0), the Central Division appears to be strongest in the early stages. Of the 12 teams with a point percentage of at least .667, five are in the Central Division, including both the Jets (1.000) and Blues (.667).

Tuesday's game will be the first broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network Midwest following its rebrand from Bally Sports Midwest. The broadcast will feature the same on-air talent as before with John Kelly (play-by-play), Jamie Rivers (analyst), Andy Strickland (reporter), Scott Warmann (“Blues Live” host) and Bernie Federko ( Analyst).

Channel numbers remain the same as under the Bally Sports name across television or streaming providers. Viewers can also watch the network by subscribing to FanDuel Sports Network directly through its website.

FanDuel Sports Network Midwest will broadcast 68 more Blues regular-season games, including Tuesday nights.

Tuesday night will also be the NHL's “Frozen Frenzy” as all 32 teams play with staggered start times. In addition to the ESPN tripleheader, John Buccigross, Kevin Weekes and PK Subban will host a thrilling live show for the night's best moments (6-7 p.m. on ESPN+ and 7-11 p.m. on ESPN2 and ESPN+).

A little more time?

Forwards Oskar Sundqvist and Alexey Toropchenko were both on the ice for Blues practice Monday morning, but both skated with Nathan Walker on the fifth line, potentially meaning they could miss Tuesday's game against the Jets.

Sundqvist (knee surgery) participated fully in training last week since being cleared for contact, and Blues coach Drew Bannister said Sundqvist was “close.” He hasn't played since March due to a torn cruciate ligament.

“But I think he will not be available for games in pre-season. We have to extend him or be careful with Sunny and make sure he's really in good shape before we get him in a game,” Bannister said. “He has been in full contact since we got back. So we get very close to Sunny too.”

Bannister also added that the idea of a conditioning assignment for Sundqvist “hasn’t come up at all.”

Toropchenko (lower body) missed Saturday's game against the Hurricanes and Bannister said Toropchenko skated on his own Sunday while the rest of the team had a day off from practice.

“I think he looked better,” Bannister said. “Again, I think he’s an everyday player too. We have a lot of these people at the moment, which is a good sign for us. We’re dealing with these everyday injuries right now and I think we’ll see more players coming back here soon.”
