Texas TechThe four-game winning streak may have faltered a week ago, but the chance for a rebound is looming with a road trip against him looming Texas Christian. The Red Raiders are now 3-1 in the Big 12 and continue to control their own destiny in a four-way tie for second place in the conference.

The Horned Frogs will look to recapture the saddle trophy currently owned by the Red Raiders.

Tech's win in Lubbock a year ago gave TCU four straight wins in the series, which is historically in the red and black's favor.

The Horned Frogs have had an up and down season so far and appear to be on the up after a win over Utah in Salt Lake City.

While there wasn't quite as much excitement as in Waco, the mood in Fort Worth was mostly somber after the Horned Frogs' 24-game loss to SMU and a disastrous Friday night home game against Houston.

TCU is 0-2 at home in Big 12 games.

With a bye week to match Tech's, TCU bounced back from the loss to the Cougars by earning a physical victory over the Utes in a defensive slugfest.

The Horned Frogs are led by Josh Hoover, the Big 12 all-time leader and one of the top five gunslingers in the country.

Hoover has 16 touchdowns and six interceptions to this point in the season, a testament to the high-octane offense that Dykes and offensive coordinator Kendall Briles have tried to build.

Hoover is essentially a Jeyll and Hyde situation.

There are brilliant moments where his arm talent is on full display, while he sometimes makes missed throws and struggles to hold onto the football.

Overall, the Horned Frogs have lost nine fumbles this season, which is the second-most loss in the nation.

TCU's running game appears to be a mess – their rushing offense is firmly ranked 15th in the league, ahead of only Colorado.

The Horned Frogs haven't given up on the ground game entirely, however, with the addition of burly wide receiver Savion Williams and former QB Trent Battle, who takes snaps out of the backfield.

Williams, a stocky 6-foot-3, 225-pound man, will be a physical challenge for the Red Raiders, just as they faced Arizona's Tetairoa McMillian. However, the bigger threat to the Tech defense may actually come from senior receiver Jack Bech.

Bech is currently second in the Big 12 in receiving yards and is one of Hoover's favorite targets.

In order for the Red Raiders to retain the prestigious saddle trophy, the physical performance must increase compared to the performance against Baylor. Defensively, the Horned Frogs were unable to stop the run, allowing an average of 164 yards per game on the ground.

TCU has given up more than 200 yards rushing three times this season, although Utah only managed 68 yards rushing in one of the more impressive defensive performances this season.
