Stephen Curry was ruled out against the Clippers with a sprained left ankle

SAN FRANCISCO – Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was sidelined early in the fourth quarter Sunday night by a left ankle sprain following his team's home loss to the LA Clippers and was out for the remainder of the game.

After the 112-104 loss, Steve Kerr described the sprain as “mild to moderate.” Curry is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Sunday evening.

Curry twisted his ankle for the first time just under three minutes before the end of the third quarter. He immediately left the game, limped to the sideline and sat on the bench, where he was looked after by athletic trainer Drew Yoder.

Curry rocked back and forth in his chair for several minutes before beginning to stretch his ankle with a resistance band.

Four minutes into the fourth quarter, Curry tried to get back into the game. Just seconds later, as Curry tried to fight his way through a screen, he appeared to aggravate the injury.

This time he left the field and walked back to the locker room, his limp much worse than before and relying on Gary Payton II for support as he walked.

He finished the night with 18 points on 6 of 11 shooting, including four made 3-pointers and six assists.
