Shaun White and Nina Dobrev are engaged after five years of dating

“She knew that not all of my friends and family could be there and she gathered everyone together and made this incredible video where everyone said how much they wished they could be there and gave me their love and support ” the 38-year-old told E! News added that he played this video “every day” while he was in Beijing. It really set the tone for the rest of the trip.”

The end of Shaun's snowboarding career was also just the beginning of one of the couple's favorite things to do: skiing together. In fact, the Canadian native and former Olympian is a real looker when he hits the slopes.

“She's really good on the board,” Shaun gushed to E! from Nina. News at the beginning of the year. “She grew up in Canada. So it was nice because that's definitely the deciding factor in a relationship sometimes. Not if they can’t ride, but I’ve had people get together with me and it didn’t end well because sometimes I’m not the best trainer.”

Nina's affinity for skiing is just one of the many reasons why her relationship always fails. As Shaun told E! added! News: “It's nice to have a partner who loves the mountains and is adventurous and stuff.”
