Selena Gomez is returning to her Disney roots. Last night she celebrated the world premiere of Disney Channel Wizards Beyond Waverly Place at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, taking her right back to the universe that made her a star in the 2000s. The new show is a continuation of the popular series The Wizards of Waverly Place (which premiered 17 years ago). Gomez is expected to make a cameo appearance in the new series, which stars David Henrie. He appeared alongside Gomez as Justin Russo WOWis the original run.

Gomez hit the red carpet in a sculptural strapless dress by Rodarte that featured a flowy, architectural bodice with a tiny peplum and sequins throughout. The skirt featured the same shimmering red sequins and also featured a high leg slit that reached up to Gomez's thigh. She completed the look with matching red shoes and several silver rings and drop earrings from Messika. Forgoing a necklace to highlight the dress's intricate neckline, she wore her signature dark hair in a long, center-parted hairstyle with the ends touching her collarbone.

The beauty founder kept her makeup subtle and bright, but added a pop of color with a dark manicure. Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will air on Disney Channel starting October 29th, with new episodes available to stream on Disney+ the next day.

Before the premiere, Gomez shared a video that showed her wearing the same dress as she cast her ballot. The TikTok clip showed Gomez posing near a ballot box and a blue heart emoji. The addition was a subtle nod to Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party's preference for the color blue.

“It's time to vote,” she captioned the post, which was set to Chappell Roan's viral track “Hot to Go.”
