Road closures for the Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday

The 24th annual Baltimore Running Festival takes place on Saturday.

Over 13,000 runners are expected at this year's event.

There is already a closure in the left lane (next to the median) of southbound Light Street from Pratt to Conway Streets.

The full closure of Pratt Street from Charles to Light Streets will begin Friday at 9 p.m. This portion of Pratt Street will remain closed until the event ends late Saturday afternoon.

Traffic will be affected in many city communities and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes.

This includes using streets north of 33rd Street, south of McComas Street, west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and east of Highland Avenue.

Motorists traveling within the circuit are advised to arrive before the start of the races or after the end of the event to minimize delays.

Commercial vehicle restrictions will apply at the following locations on Saturday from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Fayette Street from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (MLK) to President Street (no commercial vehicles are permitted on or south of Fayette Street)
  • President Street from Aliceanna to Fayette Street (no commercial vehicles are permitted on or west of President Street)
  • Light Street from Pratt Street to Key Highway
  • Key Highway from Light Street to McComas Street
  • Hanover Street from McComas to Montgomery Street (no commercial vehicles are permitted on or north of McComas Street, including Hanover Street)
  • Pratt Street and Lombard Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to President Street
  • I-395 splits to Pratt Street at the Martin Luther King, Jr. intersection (commercial vehicles on I-395 must use Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to continue north of the race site)

The Charm City Circulator is out of service from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Operations will resume from 4:00 p.m. to midnight on race day.

Races start at different times and locations:

  • 7:30 a.m. – 5K race begins at Light & Pratt Street
  • 8:00 a.m. – Marathon and 10K start at Paca & Camden Streets
  • 9:45 a.m. – The half marathon begins at Light & Pratt Street
  • 3:00 p.m. – All courses closed
