If you picked San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason for your fantasy team following Christian McCaffrey's injury, his contribution Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys could be his last significant impact on fantasy football. NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared the warning Friday morning, indicating that McCaffrey appears to be on track to regain the majority of in-game snaps at running back.

Mason has impressed in McCaffrey's absence, rushing for 667 yards and three touchdowns this season while averaging 5.2 yards per carry. However, he had limited practice participation this week as he continues to recover from an ACL sprain he suffered in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks. Mason appeared against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and is expected to play this weekend.

“He had 14 runs (against the Chiefs), seemed OK,” Rapoport said on NFL Network Friday morning. “I expect him to play. This may actually be the last game where Jordan Mason is the show cow.”

Head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that McCaffrey could return to practice during the bye week and potentially make him available for the 49ers' Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCaffrey, who has yet to play this season, landed on injured reserve with bilateral Achilles tendonitis.

“The 49ers have a bye (after Sunday),” Rapoport continued. “Christian McCaffrey should begin practice, and there is a very good chance that McCaffrey will be on the field for the 49ers' next game on November 10th. If you have Jordan Mason in your imagination, this could be your last hurrah.”

Regarding wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who was hospitalized with pneumonia earlier this week, Rapoport hinted that he could still suit up against the Cowboys. Samuel missed practice on Wednesday but had limited participation on Thursday.

“It's a situation where he can play if he feels good enough,” Rapoport noted. “The fact that he trained yesterday at least means he has a good chance of being out on Sunday.”
