Rams News: Florio offers trade proposal for Matthew Stafford for Sam Darnold

Should the Rams trade Matthew Stafford to the Vikings for Sam Darnold? Probably not. But Mike Florio expressed on his show Pro Football Talk that the Vikings should consider the possibility.

“Florio believes that if the Vikings lose two games in a row, Minnesota should do this Consider trading for Matthew Stafford from the Los Angeles Rams.

“For example, if the Jets came up with a plan to make Sam Darnold look mortal, the Vikings would be wise (if they lose to the Lions and then to Stafford's Rams) to at least consider the possibility of an upgrade,” Florio said. “(Coincidentally, Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell and Stafford worked together for a year in LA and both won a Super Bowl ring for their efforts.)”

“Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio hinted last weekend that Minnesota could or should complete a trade with the Los Angeles Rams for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Florio also mentioned an injury aspect: “It is more likely that the goal will be determined by injury. We still have four weekends of football to go before the window closes. A season-ending injury is enough for Stafford to have a new home. And that the Rams get a nice return,” he wrote. “In 2011, the Bengals and quarterback Carson Palmer were at an impasse. Two days before the trade deadline, Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell suffered a broken collarbone. That sparked a Palmer trade to Oakland.”
