Predicted line-up of Barcelona against Crvena zvezda: UEFA Champions League

2 minutes, 45 seconds Read

Leaders Barcelona will be looking to continue their dominant form when they take on Red Star Belgrade in the fourth matchweek of the UEFA Champions League in Serbia.

Flick's men have won six games in a row, most recently in La Liga against Catalan neighbors Espanyol. Los Periquitos were hopeless against Barcelona's well-oiled machine. Despite the recent victories, Flick will not have forgotten what happened in his team's first European away game of the season, when they fell to an inferior side on paper, AS Monaco, to start the UCL campaign.

A win at the Rajko Mitic Stadium would see Barcelona finish the week in the top eight of the UCL league stage and own one of the automatic qualification places for the round of 16 in this new format.

With an international break looming, Flick could decide not to give some of his key players a rest and aim for two wins in the two remaining games before the break.

This is how Barcelona could appear against Crvena zvezda.

TW: Iñaki Pena—Peña has established himself as Barcelona's number 1 goalkeeper and is aiming for his second clean sheet in the UCL this season.

RB: Jules Koundé—The Frenchman took a break in the Catalan derby at the weekend. Expect him to return to the lineup and patrol the right flank.

CB: Pau Cubarsí—The teenager remains one of Barcelona's most consistent and solid defenders. The various defensive injuries have allowed him to continue the very impressive start to his career.

CB: Iñigo Martinez—Alongside Cubarsí, Martínez has fielded one of the best central defender pairings in Europe this season. He was rock solid in his second season with the club.

LB: Alejandro Baldé—Baldé is back to the level that made him one of the most dangerous offensive full-backs in Europe. He will be looking for a third assist in as many games.

CM: Frenkie de Jong –The Dutch midfielder hopes to finally start for the first time this season. After several cameo appearances, this could be the game where he finally starts and gives Marc Casadó a well-deserved rest.

CM: Pedri—It seems unlikely that Flick will remove both of his regular midfielders, so Pedri gets the nod. The former Kopa Trophy winner has had a remarkable start to the season.

RW: Lamine Yamal—Yamal has scored just one goal in Barcelona's last six games. For the second time in his UCL career he will try to score.

AM: Fermin Lopez—López made way for Dani Olmo, who played his first game in over a month against Espanyol. Flick could be wary of giving Olmo two starts again so soon, allowing the 21-year-old midfielder to return to the eleven.

LW: Raphinha—One of the best players in the world this season. He has been involved in at least one goal in each of Barcelona's last six games.

ST: Robert Lewandowski—Lewandowski will not want to fall behind in the race for the UCL golden boot. He is currently two goals behind Harry Kane and Viktor Gyökeres with three goals.
