MADISON, Wisc. – Penn State quarterback Drew Allar did not start the second half of Saturday's game at Wisconsin.

Towards the end of the second quarter, Allar walked gingerly to the sideline, resting his left knee. Before the end of the half, he limped into the locker room with a Penn State coach and at one point exchanged heated words with a Wisconsin fan standing on the sideline.

Allar came out of halftime with a knee brace and tried to play. But after a few warmup tosses, he walked up to the Penn State coaches shaking his head.

The Nittany Lions turned to second-year backup quarterback Beau Pribula, who had 31 career pass attempts.

Allar ranked sixth nationally entering the weekend with a QBR of 86.8. He was 14 of 18 for 148 yards and a touchdown in the first half against the Badgers.

The Nittany Lions (6-0) are ranked third nationally. At halftime they trailed Wisconsin 10-7.

Penn State will face fourth-ranked Ohio State at home next weekend.
