Elon Musk joined thousands of internet users mourning euthanasia peanuta popular squirrel that was confiscated by New York authoritiesand criticized them Biden administrationcalled it a “mindless and heartless killing machine.”

“President Donald Trump will save the squirrels,” the Tesla CEO posted on X.

The billionaire also shared an AI-generated image showing Peanut as Obi-Wan Kenobi with a lightsaber. “If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can imagine,” he wrote, followed by “Obi PNut Kenobi.”

The squirrel lived with New Yorker Mark Longo for seven years and gained worldwide admiration through content shared on his Instagram profile @peanut_the_squirrel12.
Peanut's rise to fame began when Mark Longo discovered him as an orphaned baby after his mother died in a traffic accident. After bottle-feeding it and trying to release it, the squirrel decided to stay and became an internet sensation known for eating waffles and wearing costumes.
On Saturday, New York authorities announced that Peanut and a raccoon in Mr. Longo's care were sent for rabies testing after Peanut bit a government employee. Officials cited illegal possession and the risk of exposure to rabies as reasons.
Longo shared his grief on Instagram, directing his anger at those who reported Peanut to authorities. “Internet, you WON. To the group of people who called (the DEC), there is a special place in hell for you,” Longo wrote on Instagram.
