“I got in trouble with the law for the first time in my life,” the 21-year-old admitted on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

Rodrigo, who has been traveling around the globe since February as part of her Guts World Tour, says the incident occurred as she was leaving Canada.

“We flew from Canada to Portland or something. We were at the border control. I give them my passport and they say, 'Okay, whatever.'”

But then things changed.

“They knock on the door and say, 'We need Olivia.'”

After doing a number of shows recently, Rodrigo thought someone at the border control might have a daughter who would like to sign an autograph.

“I come out, it's 3 a.m. and I'm delirious, and they take me to a room – and it's an interrogation room,” she recounted, saying that an armed officer was waiting for her inside. “And he asks, 'Have you ever been arrested?' I say, 'No, I wasn't arrested.' And he asks, 'Are you sure?'”

Rodrigo said the officer's persistence made her question herself. “I think, 'Oh my God, maybe I was arrested and didn't know it.'”

“He scared me,” she continued. “He says, 'You know you could go to prison if you lie to a federal agent like that. This is really bad.'”

“I'm freaking out. I'm like, 'I'm not going to be allowed into America!'” the pop star recalled, saying she was “so scared” at the time and “had a panic attack.”

“After 30 minutes of interrogation, he looks at me and asks, 'What's your name?'”

“And I say, ‘Olivia Rodrigo. RODRIGO,'” she recalled. “He says, 'Oh, there's a girl who looks just like you, your age, who's been arrested multiple times, and her name is Olivia Rodri.'Guez.'”

The “bad idea, right?” singer wasn’t happy.

“I was angry,” she admitted, wondering why border control hadn’t paid more attention to her name. “Crisis averted,” she concluded.

A representative for Rodrigo did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for further information.

This wasn't the only hurdle the singer faced during her tour. Earlier this month, the singer tripped and fell into a hole on stage while performing in Melbourne, Australia.

She told Fallon, who played a video of the accident for the audience, that “it was really scary.”

“Watching the video was pretty frightening. I mean, the show must go on. This is showbiz, baby.”

Luckily, Rodrigo had a positive outlook on the accident, saying she was “really glad it happened in hindsight.” The singer said she was taken to the hospital after her concert as a precaution – to be checked for a concussion – and the nurse assigned to her was a Filipino man with the same name as her recently deceased grandfather. Before her performances in Australia, Rodrigo had performed in the Philippines, where her family had emigrated years ago.

“I thought, 'Wow, he was looking out for me and making sure I didn't get hurt.' And that's why I'm really glad it happened. I think it's a beautiful story.
