A large area of ​​high pressure will continue to push off the East Coast on Thursday. Highs will likely climb into the 70s and even reach near 80° by the afternoon.

An approaching front could produce wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph Thursday afternoon and evening.

Friday: Our next cold front will move through our hometowns on Friday. While most hometowns will remain dry, a few showers are expected through Friday morning, particularly west of the Blue Ridge.

Saturday & Sunday: Seasonal temperatures will return for the weekend. Highs will warm into the mid to upper 60s and lows will fall into the 40s.

October is coming to an end and the fall foliage is at its peak! Areas like Greenbrier and towns along the Blue Ridge Parkway look particularly lively this weekend. Elsewhere the colors are changing rapidly but have not quite reached their peak yet. Expect the beautiful fall colors to end in the next week or two!
