Former President Barack Obama, in town to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris, received a rock star welcome at Detroit's Huntington Place on Tuesday night after being introduced on stage by rap icon Eminem.

Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, wore an Old English D baseball cap and spoke about how much the city of Detroit and Michigan mean to him before endorsing Harris for president.

“And as we head into the election, we are in the spotlight more than ever and it is important to use your voice. So I encourage everyone to get out and vote, please,” Mathers said. “I also think people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions. I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are afraid of retaliation for speaking out.”

“And here I want to tell you a lot more about it, President Barack Obama.”

Then Obama took the stage.

“I've attended a lot of rallies, so I don't usually get nervous, but I felt like I was kind of following Eminem,” Obama said.

He then rapped the lyrics to Eminem's “Lose Yourself,” sending the audience into a frenzy.
