Hundreds of varieties of frozen waffles from major brands such as Good and Gather, Publix and Best Choice have been recalled due to a possible listeria risk, the manufacturer said Friday.

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. decided to voluntarily recall the waffles after routine testing at the production facility revealed the potential risk.

The company noted that no consumers reported becoming ill after eating the frozen waffles.

Recalled frozen waffle pack brands include: Always Save, Best Choice, BetterGoods, Breakfast Best, Clover Valley, Essentials, Food Lion, Foodhold, Giant Eagle, Good and Gather, Great Value, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, HEB Higher Harvest, Kodiak Cakes, waffles at Price Chopper, Publix, Schnucks, SE Grocers, Simple Truth, Tops, Western Family, Great Value, Selection, No Name and Compliments.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause muscle pain, nausea, high fever and diarrhea and can be potentially fatal to children, the elderly and immunocompromised people. It can also cause pregnancy complications, miscarriages and stillbirths.
