“Nobody Wants This” renewed for season 2 on Netflix

Netflix has renewed its romantic comedy Nobody wants that for a second season after the streamer's viewers belied the show's title.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, announced the renewal at Bloomberg's Screentime conference on Thursday. Season two of Nobody wants that will also have new showrunners, with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Girl) takes over from Jack Burditt. Series creator Erin Foster remains an executive producer and writer on the series.

The renewal for Nobody wants that arrives two weeks after its premiere on Netflix. The series, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, debuted in second place on the streamer's global English-language series rankings and rose to first place during the week of September 30. 6. In the first 11 days of its release, it received nearly 90 million hours of viewing worldwide, accounting for 26.2 million full season views.

“Create Nobody wants that will always be a career highlight for me. “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives have made this the show it is today and seeing the audience reaction to this series now that it is out in the world has been more than anything I could have imagined “We can only dream of it,” Foster said in an interview statement. “I'm so happy to be able to continue this story alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I've been such a fan of ever since Girl. Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”

Nobody wants that Bell plays a podcaster who meets an unconventional rabbi (Brody) at a party. The two have an undeniable connection, but are also unsure about what obstacles – including his faith and her agnosticism – stand in the way of building a relationship. Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons also star alongside Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola and Shiloh Berman.

“It’s a dream to work on Nobody wants thatsaid Konner. “Erin is the rare creator with a crystal-clear voice and a truly collaborative spirit. I'm a real fan of Erin's show and also feel so lucky to be in the room with two of my favorites again, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward Girl.”

Kaplan added: “I am incredibly excited to be part of the second season of Nobody wants that, created by the hilarious Erin Foster. It’s such a unique and beautiful show and I’ve already had a lot of fun working on it.”

20. Television produced Nobody wants that in collaboration with Steven Levitan Productions. Foster, Konner and Kaplan executive produce the second season with Levitan, Bell, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Nora Silver, president of Jenni Konner Productions, and Oly Obst of 3Arts.
