Nick Bosa cuts short interview with 49ers teammates to make statement about Donald Trump after Cowboys win

San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa delivered a clear message on Sunday Night Football ahead of the US presidential election.

With voters across America set to go to the polls in just over a week, the defensive lineman made it clear who he will be voting for.

The 27-year-old attended his teammates Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Isaac Guerendo's live interview after the win on NBC to show his support for Donald Trump.

Bosa paused the interview to poke his head between the quarterback and reporter Melissa Stark and show his hat that read “Make America Great Again” – the Republican candidate's infamous slogan.

He pointed at the cap repeatedly before Stark laughed at the interruption and said, “Okay, Nick Bosa with a message there.”

The Fort Lauderdale native's teammates looked embarrassed as they laughed quietly at his antics.

Bosa has been an outspoken supporter of the former president in the past, tweeting pro-Trump content before being selected second overall by the 49ers in 2019.

The pass rusher was the 49ers' second pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, much to the ire of the team's more liberal fans.

Some 49ers fans reacted angrily to the San Francisco team's decision to sign Bosa because he was known as a Trump supporter and had made “insensitive” posts on social media.

In addition to supporting Trump's presidency, Bosa has a history of tweeting negative statements about black pop culture icons and entertainment properties – posts that his agent removed from his online presence as he drafted his 2019 nomination.

His deleted tweets included statements in which he called activist and former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a “clown,” wrote NBA star Dwyane Wade “looks like a parrotfish,” and noted that Black Panther was the “worst Marvel movie ” be.

He also tweeted in 2016, just six days after she released her album Lemonade with the politically charged song Formation, that “Beyonce's music is complete trash.” Earlier this year, Beyoncé was criticized for wearing a Black Panther-inspired outfit and performing “Formation” during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Over the years, Bosa has also made no secret of his support for Trump, tweeting “I love this man” on Twitter, retweeting a video of Trump's weekly address and posting a photo of him giving the thumbs up , next to a cardboard cutout of Trump.

Bosa, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was also quoted as saying he was a “big fan” of Trump, adding: “He brings a charisma that no other candidate in my life has had,” according to SF Gate.

Since his election in 2019, he has softened his political beliefs somewhat than before he was drafted.

Earlier this year, he had the opportunity to see the former president up close when he and fellow NFL star Joe Burrow greeted Trump at a UFC event.

The three chatted briefly at ringside before taking a photo that was posted to Trump adviser Dan Scavino Jr.'s account.
