NFL legend behind the Pittsburgh Steelers: Cooper Kupp Trade

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers have been looking for another wide receiver since trading Diontae Johnson to the Panthers in the offseason.

With the trade deadline approaching in two weeks, the Steelers are looking to make a move for a wideout and have expressed interest in Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp. The 31-year-old Super Bowl MVP has played in just two games this season and injured his ankle in the Week 2 game against the Cardinals.

Now that Kupp looks mostly healed, the Steelers are once again faced with a star wideout.

During an appearance on Fanduel TV's “Up and Adams with Kay Adams,” former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski discussed the situation and put the Steelers at the top of the list for Kupp's services.

“I like the Steelers,” Gronkowski said. “I went to school in Pittsburgh my senior year of high school.” So I know what it's like to be part of this Steeler Nation. I understand what the Steelers mean to the city of Pittsburgh.

“If they got Cooper Kupp, with Russell Wilson playing the way he did, throwing the ball up and hitting it up to make it a catchable ball for his receivers to make a play, then believe it “I thought that would give the Steelers a boost,” Gronkowki said. “I think that would be the best fit. If they could get him, Steeler Nation would go crazy.”

With the Steelers' running game having drastically improved over the last two games, there is less pressure on the wide receiver room to shine with what little they have. However, an addition of any kind would still be welcome, especially if it involves a single-season wide receiver scrimmage yards record holder joining the team.

The deadline is November 5th at 4 p.m., so the Steelers would have to make a move before then to have Kupp this season.
