Michigan Basketball has added some international flavor to its 2025 recruiting class.

Oscar Goodman, a New Zealand native, announced his commitment to the Wolverines in a social media post on Wednesday, marking the program's second commitment in six days.

The 1.90 meter tall forward trains at the NBA Global Academy in Australia and is considered one of the best international young players in the 2025 class.

Last summer, Goodman was named to the five-member all-star team at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey, where he helped New Zealand reach the semifinals before losing to eventual world champions USA. At the FIBA event, he averaged 17 points, 6.3 rebounds and three assists in seven games.

Goodman, who was also named MVP of the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship, chose Michigan over Georgetown, Ohio State, Texas Tech and other top-ranked options.

“I chose Michigan because Coach (Dusty) May had a winning history and believed I would contribute to the team right away,” Goodman told 247Sports. “Michigan had all the resources and opportunities I was looking for to help me take the next step of my basketball career.

“Coach May and his staff are building something special and after speaking to some of the players when I visited, they all have the same desire and desire to win. That culture was something I was looking for.”

Goodman joins four-star forward Winters Grady, a top-100 recruit, in Michigan's class of 2025. Grady committed to the Wolverines on Friday.
