Netflix renews the number 1 series weeks after the release of the first season

Netflix has officially renewed its top series, Nobody wants thatfor a second season.

The news was announced on Thursday (October 10) via the streamer's companion page. Tudumin an article entitled “Nobody wants that Come back for season 2 because you wanted him to.”

The renewal comes two weeks after the hit romantic comedy about a rabbi and an agnostic sex podcaster (Adam Brody and Kristen Bell) who fall in love despite their clear differences debuted on the streamer.

“Create Nobody wants that will always be a career highlight for me,” said series creator Erin Foster Tudum.

“The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives have made this the show it is today and seeing the audience reaction to this series now that it is out in the world has been more than anything I could have imagined can dream.”

Nobody wants that The film initially landed at No. 2 on Netflix's weekly Top 10 Most Watched list with 10.3 million views.

It has since moved to the top of the list with 15.9 million views (as of October 8).

In conversation with IndieWire Ahead of the official renewal announcement, Foster hinted at what she would like to delve into in a potential second season.

“The story of the first season develops very slowly. So if there's a second season, I would just want to pick up where we left off and take it slow because I don't want us to get too far ahead of ourselves.”

Addressing the first season's cliffhanger ending, Foster explained that she wanted Bell's Joanne to seriously consider converting, but not do so so early in the relationship.

“I completely understand some people who make the artistic decision not to give the audience what they want, but I don't think this is that kind of show,” Foster said.

“I don’t want people to walk away frustrated or upset. I think this is the kind of show where you want to get what you want, and I wanted to give people the moment of, “We choose each other, but everyone knows that we give up a lot to choose each.” .'others, so how do we do this?'

“And that felt to me like a realistic but still satisfying ending with conflict so you can go somewhere.”

Nobody wants that has delighted critics The Independent's Katie Rosseinsky calls it “stunningly relatable” and “laugh-out-loud funny” in her four-star review.
