Nebraska fans react to the hiring of former Big 12 head coach Dana Holgorsen

The Nebraska Cornhuskers added a new member to their coaching staff during the second bye week of the 2024 season. Former Big 12 head coach Dana Holgorsen is joining the Huskers as an offensive consultant.

The Huskers have struggled on offense since their win over the Purdue Boilermakers, averaging 14.5 points per game. Holgorsen comes on board with a long resume, having been a coach for over 30 years.

He has primarily coached the offensive side of the ball, working as a quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator. He is part of Mike Leach's coaching staff, who is known for his air-raid approach.

He served as head coach for West Virginia and Houston, compiling a 92-69 record during his tenure. Holgorsen coached the Mountaineers from 2011 to 2018 and the Cougars from 2019 to 2023. He joined the Huskers after spending part of the 2024 season at TCU as a consultant to their defense, studying opposing teams' offenses.
