Just about 15 minutes after Banner 18 was raised to the rafters, the Boston Celtics absolutely entered the record books with a franchise-high 17 three-pointers made in a single half. The Celtics scored 74 points in the first half and appear to be putting the rest of the league on notice as they embark on a monumental quest to repeat as NBA champions.

Powered by Jayson Tatum, who went 6 for 9 in the half, Boston's starting five recorded an incredible 15 makes in the first half. Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday and Al Horford each scored twice, while Derrick White picked up where he left off in the NBA Finals at 3-for-5. Boston's outstanding floor spacing and offensive rebounds spurred the C's to end the half with 17:32 left and one three-pointer shy of the league record.
