WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

– Parts of the county reached 80 degrees for the second day in a row, almost unheard of for this time of year.

– The calendar will adjust to the weather starting this evening as the cold front brings significantly colder weather this morning.

– The low of 48 degrees Saturday morning will be more than 30 degrees colder than the high Friday afternoon.


– Winds will ease through Saturday after 30 to 40 mph gusts contributed to increased fire danger. The risk of fire will be significantly reduced, but very low humidity will continue.

– This cold will be short-lived as significantly warmer weather returns next Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures could reach 80 degrees again on Wednesday, breaking the record of 75 degrees set in 2022.

– Election day also looks pleasant, with no rain expected until at least Thursday.

– Rain is urgently needed across the county as the moderate drought will only worsen over the next week and could become a severe drought within the next week or two.


– There are no major storms on the horizon, depending on the tropics.
