It's been a long time since we saw the University of Montana Grizzlies take the field at Washington Grizzly Stadium, and fans will have to wait another week to cheer on the maroon and silver at home as the Grizzlies finish their road trip in San Luis Obispo , California to face Cal Poly.

The Mustangs just completed their bye week, giving them an extra week to prepare for Montana's strengths and weaknesses. Coach Bobby Hauck mentioned that you can see a more unique style of play when facing a team outside of the bye, so Montana is prepared for anything.

Despite their 2-5 record, Cal Poly has been a thorn in the side of several teams this year. The last time they took the field, they almost managed to end up upset by ranked Idaho. So this team is battle tested.

Their quarterback, Bo Kelly, tends to be a roller coaster ride, but as a sophomore who saw a lot of playing time as a freshman, he has the ability to light up certain defenses.

On defense, Cal Poly had the strength to knock the ball loose this year. Coach Hauck made a point of it because he values turnovers as much as anyone, so it's easy to imagine that ball security for one of the best backfields in the FCS was a big topic of conversation this week.

Once again, we don't know who will play the most snaps at quarterback for Montana. Logan Fife appeared to be in control of the offense, but last week in Northern Colorado, Keali'i Ah Yat got the majority of the share. Both QBs have shown they are capable, but it was Fife who kept Montana in multiple shootout games this season.

The Griz will enter Cal Poly as 20-plus point favorites, but that can't be an excuse to look ahead to a big top-10 matchup against UC Davis next week.

Kickoff is at 3:00 p.m. MT in San Luis Obispo, California.
