MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Tonight temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50s under clear skies.

Monday brings us a mix of sun and clouds across the area. Temperatures are beginning to warm as a more easterly current develops from the Atlantic. This could also lead to some rainfall in our coastal communities late Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Highs on Monday will reach the mid-70s.

Heat returns to the area Tuesday through Friday. We will see mostly sunny skies on Election Day and it will be quite warm across the region. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. So if you vote or take part in elections, be sure to take some water with you, it will be pleasantly warm. It will remain fairly warm through the end of the week, with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s for the rest of the week.

Scattered showers are possible across the region on Wednesday and Thursday. The heat, humidity and an easterly current make it humid. So watch out for some splashes and showers. This will by no means help our dry conditions, but it could at least clear the dust from the air.

We continue to monitor the tropics. Potential Tropical Cyclone 18 was expected to reach tropical depression or tropical storm status early this week. Along the way, this system passes through the Caribbean and eventually into the Gulf of Mexico. We will continue to monitor the track and keep you updated throughout the week.
