US election 2024

Nebraska voters will cast their ballots in the race for president, both of the state's U.S. Senate seats and the state's three U.S. House seats. In one of the Senate races, Republican Sen. Deb Fischer is running for re-election against Dan Osborn, a candidate with no party affiliation, in a contest that the Cook Political Report rates as “likely Republican.” A special election for Nebraska's other Senate seat is not expected to be competitive. The race for House of Representatives in Nebraska's 2nd District is called “Leans Democratic.”

Voters will also decide on two competing ballot measures related to abortion, two measures related to marijuana use and production, and an initiative to provide annual paid sick leave.

Nebraska gives two electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins statewide and one to the presidential candidate who receives the most votes in each of its three congressional districts.

Nebraska will begin releasing results after polls close at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
