DAN LANNING

– Wanted to challenge Ohio State’s fullbacks

– “Does anyone have a heart rate monitor?”

– “Everything is still open for both teams.” Praises Ohio State.

– On Jordan James: “He runs like he’s mad all the time. We see it in practice every day.”

– On his feeling at the moment: Relief is one of the biggest feelings because the team has worked so hard.

– On Dillon Gabriel’s touchdown run: I’m not sure how many times he’s seen this look in practice. The blocking was great. Great decision by Gabriel.

– On the last offensive possession: I was trying to score a touchdown, trying to keep the clock running. We tried to score in the third period, kicked and were ready to play defense.

– “You’re not replacing Jordan (Burch).” I’m pleased with how the guys performed in his absence.

– About Dillon Gabriel: Proud of him and knows he will defer to his teammates. Big night.

– On Jeff Bassa's missed interception: I hate to waste the challenge early if you're wrong. I was hoping it was enlisted for a review. “It’s about the next piece.”

– About the program structure: Winning football means winning football. Validation of the process is their concern.

– On the field storm after the game: A funny moment that he knows everyone in green in the building will enjoy
