When all is right in the world, Laverne Cox must add The Daily Show Correspondent on her CV.

According to Late Nighter, the actress recently appeared as an author and gave a moving speech aimed at Republicans who have used transphobia to get back into the White House.

“When you think of bullying, you probably think it happens in schools. And you’re right,” Cox said as she took the stage to honor GLAAD’s Spirit Day with a 10-minute speech. “But these days, bullying is also perpetrated by people much more immature than teenagers: politicians.”

What is Spirit Day?

GLAAD describes Spirit Day as “the world's most visible anti-bullying movement, inspiring LGBTQ youth, especially transgender and non-binary youth, to live their lives in their truth and authenticity.” “The organization celebrates spirit Day since 2010. Her main goal is to raise awareness, spread love among LGBTQ+ youth, and prevent bullying and harassment.

“Nowadays, bullying also happens from people who are much more immature than teenagers: politicians,” she also said during the post. “Given that anti-trans messaging plays such a large role in our politics, it’s no wonder we see so much anti-trans violence and suicide. And we have concrete data on this. I did not get this fact from the same source Republicans get their information from: www.straightoutoftheirass.com.”

“Great job lawmakers,” the Emmy-nominated actress and activist continued in her post. Thank you for making sure schools don't teach about sexual orientation or gender identity. Because pretending trans kids don't exist means they disappear. Just like saying that climate change doesn't exist also means that it's going away. I guess we’ll never know why my tits sweat in December.”

Cox's monologue is both hilarious and powerful, and we need more of it on television.

“We’re just trying to live our lives,” she also said. “We just want to be who we are and not experience stigma, violence and discrimination for it – and most people understand that.” But because this is such a simple and undisputed truth, Republicans need to flood the airwaves with made-up scaremongering. “
