Key Ole Miss football RB is out with first half injury

1 minute, 6 seconds Read

The No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels built a 35-14 lead over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the first half of Saturday's game in Fayetteville, but a key player was forced out with an injury just before the Rebels' final score in the second quarter.

Inside the Arkansas 10-yard line with just over 10 seconds left in the half, Ole Miss running back Henry Parrish Jr. was carrying the football and was clumsily tackled near the goal line, suffering what appeared to be a lower-body injury . Parrish was helped off the field after the game because he had little to no weight on the affected leg.

At the time of his injury, Parrish had accumulated 22 rushing yards on 10 carries against Arkansas, and while that's not a huge number, it was enough to lead the team in that category at halftime.

The good news for Ole Miss at halftime was their sizable lead. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Jordan Watkins connected through the air for three touchdowns, and Dart also threw a touchdown pass to tight end Dae'Quan Wright after the Rebels scored their first touchdown of the day, which ended with a Defensive fumble recovery came about in the zone.

In the rushing department, Ole Miss had just 41 yards at halftime compared to about 300 passing yards.
