Kelly Stafford admitted she let jealousy get the best of her as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship took over the NFL world.

On the latest episode of her podcast “The Morning After,” Stafford addressed what she felt was a cloud hanging over her due to her comments about Swift earlier this year – when she expressed her frustration over the increased attention surrounding the couple – and explained that she is a fan of the singer.

“I feel like there’s just this…cloud hanging over this Taylor Swift thing. “I've never said I don't like Taylor Swift,” Stafford told her co-host Hank Winchester. “But I have to admit that I'm kind of tired of the Chiefs' coverage of this – actually the NFL's coverage of this budding relationship over the last year. And can she do something about it? No, she can't do that.

“It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it overshadowed the games. I think that bothered me. I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting so much attention and suddenly the football game became a sideshow. So yeah, maybe I let the jealousy get the better of me.”

Stafford and her husband, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, took their four daughters — twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4 — to see Swift's Eras Tour in New Orleans last weekend.

It came a month after Stafford didn't seem thrilled about Swift and Kelce's romance dominating the NFL circuit.

“I don't know if I want to see another four months of coverage about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” she said on a separate episode of her podcast in May.

Stafford explained that she knew participating in Swift's Eras Tour would come with backlash.

“I don’t remember exactly what I said, but I’ve always loved Taylor Swift and her music,” Stafford said. “I was a fan of hers when she was a country star because she and I are the same age. I kind of grew up with their music. It's always positive.

“Going into the concert I knew there would be a backlash… Why did I feel that way? And it was true, I had some jealousy issues over the fact that she suddenly became the leading lady in NFL football, or over their relationship. And I watch my husband work his ass off, and I watch all these guys that play for the league work their ass off, and suddenly they're like a sideshow. That’s where something like this comes from.”

Stafford went on to explain how excited she is about the positive impact Swift's NFL presence has had on the league's growth.

“But I'm so grateful to her in so many ways because there are so many more women, there are little girls watching with their dads and it definitely makes my girls love football more knowing that they associated with it,” Stafford said.

“Honestly, I think my girls are more proud of their dad for playing the sport that Taylor Swift loves… But this concert, holy shit.”

The Staffords surprised their four daughters with a trip to New Orleans to see Swift in concert.

Stafford decorated a private plane with friendship bracelets, balloons and sparkly outfits for her daughters — who beamed with excitement as they boarded the plane, as seen in a video she shared on social media.

They watched the concert in the VIP area, where the Super Bowl champion chatted with Swift's father, Scott.

“Matthew talked to the father for a while,” Stafford said. “He was very, very nice.”
