'Kaos' creator reacts after Netflix cancels series after one season

“Kaos” creator Charlie Covell has spoken out for the first time since the Greek mythology comedy series was canceled by Netflix after just one season.

On Thursday, Covell wrote a message to fans of the series on the production company Sister's Instagram page: “Of course I'm sorry not to make more 'Kaos,' but I don't want this message to affect what we do. outshines me.” I am incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew and I am extremely proud of our show. Thank you to everyone involved: it was an excellent team effort and a great privilege to work with you all.”

In “Kaos,” Jeff Goldblum played a quirky modern-day Zeus who chained Prometheus (Stephen Dillane) for interfering with his rule. Prometheus then attempts to overthrow Zeus with the help of three people: Eurydice (Aurora Perrineau), Ariadne (Leila Farzad), and Caeneus (Misia Butler). Covell, known for his adaptation of “The End of the F***ing World,” wrote all eight episodes.

On Tuesday, news broke that the show was canceled, and many fans took to social media and Reddit to express their dismay. In her message, Covell thanked the show's supporters for the “love and enthusiasm.”

“I was shown subreddits that made my heart skip a beat: the tiny details and Easter eggs you noticed made my day a whole lot better,” Covell wrote. “I was almost overwhelmed by your positive reactions to the show – thank you very much!”

The creator even added that he saw a theory on Reddit about “who or what 'Kaos' is” that was “badass.”

Covell concluded that they “now hope that people continue to discover and enjoy the show: I guess there are some potential fans out there who might need more time to find it, so please keep talking about it.” 'Kaos' if you liked it.” ”
